A Review of ROYALLY MATCHED by Emma Chase

Royally-Matched-3D-bookSome men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry Charles Albert Edgar Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.

He’s not handling it well.

Hoping to force her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora goes on a much-needed safari holiday—and when the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:

Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.

A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world’s most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.

While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.

The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit…and her naughty sense of humor.

But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.

As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

A 5star Review of ROYALLY MATCHED by Emma Chase

“He could crush me; the foreshadowing is clearly written. It’s a tale as old as time: the inexperienced bluestocking and the bed-hopping rogue. Bloody hell, I’m a troupe.”

Emma Chase is brilliant. She brought forth a fun, witty, and charming modern-day fairytale that gave a bit of sizzle to the pages. Pure perfection.

Although I am not a lover of the Bachelor, I was excited to read this twist on the concept. Besides, who can resist the idea of a royal with an accent, right? And Henry John Edgar Thomas Pembrook, Prince of Wessco? Well, he brought the sexy factor to the story. As a young man struggling with his new role as next in line for the throne and the expectations it brings, Henry played off his stress and concern through his playboy ways and his need to shock his grandmother whenever possible. Besides, he was never groomed for this role. That was to be his brothers lot in life, not his. So why not really have some fun and use a reality-television show to help him find his wife? He was never to planning to settle down anyway.

“If I’m supposed to the Great Royal Hope for my country, we’re all well and truly fucked.”

Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum (insert giggles here) was the epitome of the young, naïve girl who never quite fit in. Hiding away in the library or with her nose tucked in a classic story, she allowed few to get close. But there is more to this sweet and shy girl that lies under the surface… and a naughty sense of humor that begins to shine through with a sharp wit.  It is always the quiet ones you must watch out for, and Sarah is no exception.  Especially when it comes to Henry.

As the story unfolded, I was immediately captured by the longing and heartache both Henry and Sarah brought to the story. There is a depth to each that is kept buried and hidden, but as the two connected on a level neither ever saw coming, the level of heat simply simmered to overflowing.

“I’m starting to think of it as the Henry Effect, because he makes me feel so many… things.”

Well, Henry definitely had an effect on me. Watching the transformation of both Sarah and Henry was captivating and uplifting. The heart and compassion that shines through for others, the trust they both find in one another, and the maturity and strength they discover within themselves allowed them to bring out the best in each other. They are a magical couple, one that is perfectly matched.

Emma Chase’s Royally Series is not to be missed. It will have you laughing out loud and swooning over the sweet and sexy prose she brings to the pages! This is RomCom at its finest.
