From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes an electrifying new spin-off series,Saints of Denver, featuring all the characters fans have been dying to read about.
Sayer Cole and Zeb Fuller couldn’t be more different. She’s country club and fine-dining, he’s cell-block and sawdust. Sayer spends her days in litigation, while Zeb spends his working with his hands. She’s French silk, he’s all denim and flannel.
Zeb’s wanted the stunning blonde since the moment he laid eyes on her. It doesn’t matter how many smooth moves he makes, the reserved lawyer seems determinedly oblivious to his interest—either that or she doesn’t return it. Sayer is certain the rough, hard, hot-as-hell Zeb could never want someone as closed off and restrained as she is, which is a shame because something tells her he might be the guy to finally melt her icy exterior.
But just as things start to heat up, Zeb is blindsided by a life altering moment from his past. He needs Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. He can’t risk what’s at stake just because his attraction to Sayer feels all consuming. But as these opposites dig in for the fight of their lives, battling together to save a family, the steam created when fire and ice collide can no longer be ignored.
Review for BUILT by Jay Crownover
By Amy at Pages Abound
I don’t know how Jay does it, but each time she writes about a character, she taps into the inner workings, roots around the demons and insecurities that lurk inside, and brings forth the diamond in the rough. BUILT is just one more example of how Jay Crownover is able to draw forth the human element of her characters and expose the flaws that make them unique and lovable.
The foundation she BUILT for Sayer and Zeb is carefully constructed, encompassing the messiness of life, so that once fears are faced, trust is built, and walls are torn down, two people are brought together in order to help heal, love, grow, and build a relationship that is strong and supportive.
If you are a fan of the Marked Men Series, you are sure to find yourself just as hooked with The Saints of Denver characters. Be prepared! Zeb will steal your heart and have you appreciating the strong convictions he holds dear and the support he lends to those he loves and cares about.
“Sometimes we have to suffer and give up a piece of ourselves to do the right thing for someone that we love. I’ve been there.”
He is a man with integrity and a heart of gold; a man who was able to rise from the ashes and builds a life of which he can be proud. His ability to see so clearly the needs of others and find the compassion and strength to understand each person’s perspective made him one my favorite men Jay has written to date! (Look out Rule…Zeb is moving in!)
And Sayer? What can I say. She was a women who seems so put together on the outside: strong, independent, and a fighter. But the insecurities and internal battle she has with herself is what really brought Sayer’s character to life.
“She has to trust that she’s enough, more than enough, and I can’t tell her that. She just has to know it and believe it. It has to be her truth.”
Like so many people, her fears kept her from really enjoying life and going after all life had to offer. Yet, she was amazingly honest and forthright about her personal insecurities and how she wanted to protect Zeb from her flaws or from the pain she was sure she would cause him. I appreciated being able to watch her struggle and grow through the process while also seeing the love and compassion she has for others radiate.
“There was no repairing Sayer Cole. She had to tear it all down and rebuild from scratch.”
This is not the typical love story where one chases the other and becomes the savior. This is the story of two people with enough courage to figure out what is most important in life and choose whether to let go of the personal fears.
